Photo prep is a finishing step, not a photo shoot. It takes photos you already have, strips the location and camera details out of them, and resizes them for the place they will be shown. Doing that step in the same order every time keeps a batch consistent, and keeps private details out of files that will be posted in public.
- Start with the original photos, not with copies already resized or compressed elsewhere. Each extra round of saving loses detail.
- Pick the preset named for the place the photos will go, when the tool offers one. The presets shown in the tool are sized for their marketplaces, so a photo sized for one marketplace may need to be made again, not stretched, for another.
- Choose the fit that protects the product. The fit that keeps the whole product inside the frame is the safer choice when the product must not be cut off, while the fit that fills a square frame may crop the edges, so check the edges before you download.
- Keep the quality where the preview still looks sharp, and do not push it lower just to make a smaller file. A photo that looks soft in the preview will look softer still once a marketplace shows it at full size.
- Download the cleaned copies, then check one of them before you post the batch. Open the cleaned file, look at the product, and confirm that the location details are gone, before the rest of the batch follows the same route.
- Keep the originals and the cleaned copies in separate folders, with names that say which is which, so an uncleaned original is not posted by mistake.
What this step cannot fix
Cleaning cannot rescue a blurry photo, fix bad light, or add missing detail, and photos smaller than a preset are never enlarged. If the original is too small or too dark, take a new photo in better light.

How do I remove GPS location data from a photo before posting it?
Open Photo prep, drop in the photo, and download the cleaned copy: EXIF data including GPS coordinates is stripped during processing. Use the cleaned file for marketplaces and social posts.
