TikTok Shop video checker — Movapix

Check a product video before you post it to TikTok Shop in the United States, Mexico or Brazil. A clip bounced for a basic spec mistake costs you the generation credit and the editing time. This page reads the file metadata locally — nothing is uploaded — and flags the basics: 9:16 aspect, minimum resolution, duration window and captions.

Check a video

Pick the market you sell in and the video file. Add the companion .srt caption file if you have one. The full check (codec H.264 / yuv420p and the safe-zone scan) runs in the free desktop checker described below.

Your video never leaves this device. This page only reads its width, height and duration.

    Specs by market

The numeric spec is the same in all three markets — TikTok Shop is live for local sellers in the US, Mexico and Brazil, and no market-specific numeric difference is in the checked sources. Only the caption language changes. Specs checked 2026-10-30. Items marked practice are production recommendations, not hard TikTok rules, and only ever produce a warning.

    What this cannot check

Honest limits. A browser cannot reliably read a video codec, a pixel format or whether your on-screen text will be hidden under the TikTok interface. The desktop checker (next2-04-tiktokshop-check.py, free, runs on your own machine with ffprobe/ffmpeg) covers those: it samples the first, middle and last frames and warns when the bottom or right bands look busy — a warning that text may be covered, never a certainty. And no checker can promise approval: whether a video is accepted is TikTok's content decision, not a spec decision.

Desktop usage: python3 next2-04-tiktokshop-check.py --market br --video clip.mp4 --srt clip.srt — exit code 0 means no hard FAIL, 1 means at least one FAIL. The report always prints the date the specs were last checked, and warns at the top when that check is more than 90 days old.
